Waterborne Hygiene Risks in Dental Clinics

Problem:

Water samples were obtained from seven independent dental clinics in Muenster and the Northern Ruhr-region of Germany. The number of CFUs measured at 22°C and 36°C (procedure as per the recommendation of the Robert Koch Institute) were found to be well above the acceptable, safe levels in all samples. NHS Dental Clinic

Problem:

A dental clinic serving both private and NHS patients has 8 dental units and 4 dentists. The dental units and autoclaves are in separate rooms and use sterile bottled water. Chlorine Dioxide was previously used to disinfect the dental units.
